Key Responsibilities and Functions
Reporting to the Director of Software Systems, an Intermediate Software Developer is a member of
RailTerm’s rail traffic control software development and support team, developing and supporting mission critical software for railways and transit authorities across North America. An Intermediate Software Developer is expected to guide small teams of developers and take projects through initial concept, requirements, design, and delivery.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, this position will involve remote work with the expectation that the incumbent has a suitable home workspace and internet connection. This position is expected to transition to work out of our Mississauga office (maintaining flexible work arrangements) as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Occasional travel may be required outside of Canada once it is safe to do so.
Software Development, Support, and Management
- Develop high quality software both at a high (architecture) and low (detailed implementation) level;
- Analyze business needs to determine software requirements;
- Respond and quickly resolve client questions and requests through all customer support channels;

Key Responsibilities and Functions
The Systems & Network Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization. The role will also offer second level support (hardware and software) of RailTerm IT services to all users on-site and remotely. - Minimum of 10 years of management experience in the field of railway track maintenance or construction operations (ex: Manager, Superintendent, Track Supervisor, Road Master, etc.);
- Experience in a Light Rail Transit (LRT) environment is an asset;
- Demonstrated experience in managing work crews;
- Able to efficiently delegate responsibilities and monitor progression of delegated tasks;
- Thorough understanding of engineering track standards, track construction principles and track safety regulations;
- Knowledgeable with track inspection procedures, installation and maintenance work;
- Strong leadership,management and organizational skills;
- Highly organized and flexible;
- Team player with the ability to train, supervise coach other employees;
- Intermediate MS Office (365) knowledge;
- Ability to work under pressure and take ownership of escalating issues;
- Valid driving licence.
